What's the Least Amount of Creating I Can Get Away With?

Many of us feel like we’re too busy for creating. Others actively avoid it. While researchers previously believed that spending more effort on a level was important for longer, healthier careers without losing creativity, experts now agree that this strategy is detrimental to your placement on the creator points leaderboard. So, just how little effort per level can you get away with, while still getting a rate? Here’s how low you can go, according to experts.

Based on research done by students at Zale University, there is an inverse correlation between effort per level and placement on the creator leaderboards. Some creators were noted as spending less than 2 hours per level on average; magnitudes less than some of the more prominent creators in the scene. Despite this, these 'lazy' creators are noted to be enjoying up to 12 times more creator points per year than their peers.

Regardless of the stigma, many creators are following suit and making more levels with less effort. “If you look at the statistical curve, the increase in benefits is most dramatic when these minimums are achieved" says a top creator we interviewed, who wished to remain anonymous. "If you go higher, over 300 minutes of creating per level, for example, you might get something out, sure, but the creator point gains become smaller—and that's what it's all about."

The real question on everyone's mind now is: just how much lower can that number go?
