Robert Topala Admits He "Failed to Warn Children of Lead Contamination" in 2.2 Update

RobTop Games AB disclosed Monday that nearly 20 new icons and 43 block types in the new 2.2 update have elevated lead levels and that players were wrongly kept in the dark. And in an open letter to the Geometry Dash Community, the company admitted that members should have been notified earlier about the potential exposure and lead test results.

"Despite our attention to detail and care for the game, we did not communicate effectively to the members of the community as the update launched, and we regret that our customers feel this way about potential lead exposure," it said in a statement. "We are putting systems in place to ensure that the community can become aware when we plan to add additional lead to new blocks going forward."

While advocacy groups have argued for players replacing lead within Geometry Dash levels with safer alternatives, others argue that the preserving the culture and tradition around one of Geometry Dash's most beloved elements is of paramount importance.
